Studied classical piano from age 8 to 15, also some jazz piano and classical organ.
Was in a couple of Seattle garage bands in the late 60’s, playing mostly soul and R&B covers.
Was piano accompanist for gospel choir for 9 years in the late 70’s, early 80’s. Toured Europe, Middle East and west coast US.
In 2003, a Hammond organ literally fell out of a pickup and into my world. Bringing it back to life awoke my musical side after years of hibernation.
Got started playing around Seattle again with a few blues and jam bands, then met James Apollo who introduced me to a lot of other great folks in the Americana scene here. It’s been a joy to play in most of the clubs around Seattle, from the Shanty Tavern and Comet to the Showbox Sodo and Neumos. We have also gigged in Bellingham, Portland, and NYC.
In addition to those mentioned in the discography, I’ve had the privilege to play CD release shows for Shelby Earl and Katie Hasty. Been part of several Seattle mash-ups, including the Layla tribute benefit for MUSICARES December 17, 2011.
Played piano and organ for the Roy Orbison tribute concert, Mother’s Day, 2014 and 2015 at the Triple Door.
